Ilana Bloch captures the life energy of the landscape using gestural brushwork. An atmospheric light quality created with bold color and high contrast gives each painting a glow. All of these elements combine to create a charged sensual image. Bloch adds collage to build a rich, textural surface on paper, canvas and wood. As a formal element, a rhythmic pattern brings structural organization to the paintings.
