Paintings by Beth Edwards
"My work examines the slight, almost invisible aspects of life which constitute the bulk of human existence."
The overlooked world of the everyday - ordinary objects, fleeting gestures - is the driving force behind Beth Edwards' work. Seeking to evoke the mundanity and drama of contemporary domestic life, she closes in on commonplace objects and imbues them with a significance gained simply from their visual appearance.
Edwards meticulously crafts each painting as a compellingly unorthodox still life or portrait. Delicately rendered, all of her work is completed in oil on either canvas or linen.
